The regular meeting of the New Franklin Board of Aldermen was called to order
by Mayor Jerry B Thornton Monday, May 8, 2006 at 7:00 PM at 132 East Broadway,
New Franklin, Missouri. Present were as follows:

Alderman Jerry Nowlin, Ward I Alderman John James, Ward II
Alderman Michael McGee, Ward II Alderman Walter Banks, Ward III
Alderman Kerry Thompson, Ward III City Admin/Clerk Patricia Cunningham
Chief of Police Charles Lusby City Attorney Gregory P Robinson
Absent: City Services Directory Robbey Harvey
1. AmerenUe Representatives spoke to the Board during Public Participation to review the progress made by the Arby subcontractor, Darrell Symes, on yard restorations. A work plan was described which should be completed within the next two weeks. If after that time, any citizen is not satisfied with the restoration of their property, they are instructed to contact City Hall. AmerenUE will be notified.
2. Immediately following Public Participation, Mayor Thornton called the business meeting to order. Roll was taken by the City Clerk. A quorum was established.
3. Alderwoman Heilman moved to approve the Minutes of April 24, 2006. Alderman Banks seconded the motion. Six aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.
4. Alderman McGee moved to approve the bills for May 8, 2006. Alderman Nowlin seconded the motion. Six aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.
5. Alderman Banks moved to approve the business license application and liquor license application submitted by Mr. Jason Oser for 102 S Missouri St. J & M Repair. Alderman McGee seconded the motion. Six aye votes No nay votes. Motion carried.
6. Alderman James moved to approve the transfer of funds in the amount of $1507.81 from Police Savings to general checking account for payment of uniforms, camera and lettering of car #712. Alderman McGee seconded the motion. Six aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.
7. Alderman Thompson proposed that the Board consider during budget meetings a sidewalk replacement plan by which property owners could sign up to have their sidewalks which are parallel with the streets replaced for the cost of materials. City Services would provide the labor.
8. Alderwoman Heilman moved to authorize mosquito fogging again this year. Alderman McGee seconded the motion. Six aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.
9. The Board of Alderman and families agreed to prepare and serve the Senior Center monthly breakfast June 4.
10. Alderman Thomspon moved to authorize the relettering of police vehicle #713 by redoing the doors only. Alderman Nowlin seconded the motion. Five aye votes: Thompson, Nowlin, James, Banks, McGee. One nay vote: Heilman. Motion carried.
11. Alderman McGee moved to adjourn. Alderman Nowlin seconded the motion. Six aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
