BOARD OF ALDERMEN MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 9, 2006


The regular meeting of the New Franklin Board of Aldermen was called to order by Mayor Jerry B Thornton Monday, October 9, 2006 at 7:00 PM at 132 E Broadway, New Franklin, Missouri. Present were as follows:

Absent: City Attorney Gregory P Robinson

1. Alderman Nowlin moved to approve the Minutes of September 25, 2006. Alderwoman Heilman seconded the motion. Six aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.

2. Alderwoman Heilman moved to approve the bills of October 9, 2006. Alderman Thompson seconded the motion. Six aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.

3. Alderwoman Heilman advised the Board that she is reviewing Minutes to determine if citizens contributed to the cost of the initial paving of arterial streets.

4. Alderman Nowlin suggested the city either get the street sweeper fixed, sell it, or dispose of it.

5. Chief Wells advised the Board that interviews for a police officer have been completed and a recommendation will be discussed in closed session.

6. City Services Director Harvey advised that APAC will being resurfacing streets as early as this Friday or next week.

7. Mr. Harvey has looked at gravel roads in Cooper County that have chip and seal. He is impressed with the longevity of the surface and will continue to check the status of these roads. Chip and seal may be a possibility for Stagecoach Road next year to control the dust.

8. Alderman McGee moved to adjourn to closed session pursuant to Chapter 610.021, subsection 3 of the Revised Missouri Statutes, personnel. Alderman Nowlin seconded the motion.
