The regular meeting of the New Franklin Board of Aldermen was called to order
by Mayor Jerry B Thornton Monday October 23, 2006 at 7:00 PM at 132 East Broadway,
New Franklin, Missouri. Present were as follows:

Absent: Alderman Ward III Walter Banks, City Attorney Gregory P Robinson
1. Alderwoman Heilman moved to approve the Minutes of October 9, 2006. Alderman Nowlin seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Motion carried.
2. Alderman James moved to approve the bills for October 23, 2006. Alderman Thompson seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Motion carried.
3. After reading by the City Clerk, Alderwoman Heilman moved to accept Resolution 10.23.06, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF NEW FRANKLIN, MISSOURI, STATING INTENT TO SEEK FUNDING THROUGH THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURSUE ACTIVITIES IN AN ATTEMPT TO SECURE FUNDING. Alderman Nowlin seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Motion carried.
4. After reading by the Mayor, Alderman Thompson moved to accept Resolution 10.23.06 - 02, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF NEW FRANKLIN, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE SALE OF REAL ESTATE WITH THE NEW FRANKLIN SWIM CLUB, INC., FOR A PURCHASE PRICE OF ZERO DOLLAR. Alderman McGee seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Motion carried.
5. Alderman James moved to authorize the purchase of a handheld radar unit for the police department. Alderman Nowlin seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Motion carried.
6. Alderman Thompson asked the City Clerk to discover, with the assistance of the city attorney, protocol and quorum requirements of city sub-committees and boards.
7. Chief Wells reported that car #713 is back in service. Decals and/or lettering for the vehicle will be decided within the next few weeks. Board of Aldermen previously approved detailing the car so it is more visible as a police vehicle.
8. City Services Director Harvey reported that now that the 100 block of E Broadway and 100 block of Merchant St have been resurfaced, the parking lines will be repainted next week.
9. Alderman McGee moved to adjourn. Alderman Thompson seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Meeting adjourned.
