Board of Aldermen Meeting Minutes
September 24, 2007


The regular meeting of the New Franklin Board of Aldermen was called to order by Mayor C Frank Frevert Monday, September 24, 2007 at 7:00 pm at 132 East Broadway, New Franklin, Missouri. Present were as follows:

Absent: Alderman Ward II John James, City Attorney Gregory P Robinson

1. Alderwoman Heilman moved to approve the Minutes of September 10, 2007. Alderman Thompson seconded the motion. Five aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.

2. Alderman Thompson moved to approve the bills of September 24, 2007. Alderman Nowlin seconded the motion. Five aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.

3. Alderwoman Heilman moved to allow the New Franklin High School Senior class to paint Bulldog paws on city streets. Alderman McGee seconded the motion. Five aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.

4. Alderman Banks moved to postpone the October 8, 2007 regular meeting until Tuesday, October 9, 2007 because October 8 is a National Holiday. Alderman McGee seconded the motion. Five aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.

5. Dates of committee meetings were announced by Mayor Frevert:
a. Police Board, October 4, 5 pm
b. Comprehensive Planning, October 18, 7 pm

6. Mayor Frevert asked Board members if they had taken a look at the alley between S Missouri and S Union Streets and what their recommendations were. Alderman Thompson recommended the alley needed to be ditched and crowned to alleviate watershed and loss of gravel. City Services Director Harvey recommended leaving the alley as is and continue to pull gravel up from Sulphur Street after heavy rains. Alderman Banks recommended including the paving of the alleys east and west of S Missouri and south of Merchant Street in a grant application being considered by the Comprehensive Planning committee. Mayor Frevert asked Board members to travel the alley after the next rain. Alderman Thompson moved to postpone board action. Alderman McGee seconded the motion. Five aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried.

7. After reviewing a history of Hilda Offineer's water usage, the Board found no unusual usage or discrepancies and took no action.

8. Chief Wells reported that the radios awarded through the LETPP-IC Grant Program have been installed. Reimbursement request letter will be mailed this week.

9. City Services Director Harvey reported that employee Beach will be taking his Water Distribution exam on Wednesday. Water production seems to be down and Mr. Harvey is concerned the line between the raw water meter and filters may be clogged.

10. Alderman McGee moved to adjourn. Alderman Nowlin seconded the motion. Five aye votes. No nay votes. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
