The regular meeting of the New Franklin Board of Aldermen was called to order by Mayor C Frank Frevert Monday October 9, 2007 at 7:00 pm at 132 East Broadway. Present were as follows:

1. Alderman Nowlin moved to approve the Minutes of September 24, 2007. Alderwoman Heilman seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Motion carried.
2. Alderman Nowlin moved to approve the bills of October 9, 2007. Alderman Banks seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Motion carried.
3. Alderman Thompson moved to approve the appointment of Jason Murdock to the Zoning Committee. Alderman McGee seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Motion carried.
4. In new business Alderman Nowlin asked the City Administrator to approach Casey's General Store management and ask them to place a light on the rear of the building to deter loitering after dark.
5. It was agreed by members of the Board that the City Administrator will contact the Howard County Commissioners for assistance in grading and crowning Stagecoach Road and some alleys.
6. Alderman McGee moved to approve the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant application, up to the maximum of $9000.00 for in-car videos for both patrol vehicles. Alderwoman Heilman seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Motion carried.
7. Past recipients of the Citizen of the Year award will select the Citizen of the Year for 2007.
8. City Services will be repairing three water leaks this week and building a permanent salt bin inside the city shed.
9. Department of Natural Resources - Parks Department noted four deficiencies at the city park and made recommendations. Copies of the letter are filed with the two previously awarded Land and Water Conservation Grant files. The City Administrator will discuss the recommendations with Parks Department personnel and draft a letter of response outlining the City's plans to correct the deficiencies.
10. Alderman Thompson advised the Board that the Santa Fe Trail Days Committee had a successful event this year and voted to award $275.00 to each of the four New Franklin R-1 High School classes for helping with the concessions.
11. Alderman McGee moved to adjourn. Alderman Nowlin seconded the motion. Five aye votes. Meeting adjourned.
