BOARD OF ALDERMEN SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 26, 2011

The special meeting of the New Franklin Board of Aldermen was called to order by Mayor C Frank Frevert Monday September 26, 2011 at 7;02 pm at 132 East Broadway, New Franklin, MO. Present were as follows:

Alderman Ward II John James
Alderman Ward III Michael McGee
City Administrator/Clerk Patricia Cunningham
City Attorney Gregory P Robinson

Absent: Alderman Ward III Walter L Banks

1. Additions to the agenda by the City Administrator included tuck pointing the bricks on the board room building and city hall building; and the cost to replace the information signs in the center of downtown.

2. The Board has been advised by MoDOT regarding the STP 9900 (247) project that their local work force match must be approved by MoDOT and the Federal Dept of Transportation before moving forward. It is MoDOT's suggestion the hiring of an engineering firm and a time extension request be postponed until this approval is received.

3. Alderman Thornton moved to approve the draft letter responding to work force match Alderwoman Heilman seconded the motion. Five voting aye. No nays. Motion carried.

4. Alderman Thompson moved and to prepare an extension request letter, but not to forward it to MoDOT until work force match is approved. Alderman Thornton seconded the motion. Five voting aye. No nays. Motion carried.

5. Alderman Thompson moved to accept the bid from Scott Storjohann of $800.00 to tuck point the brick on the front of 132 E Broadway and the rear of !30 E Broadway buildings. Alderman McGee seconded the motion. Five voting aye. No nays. Motion carried.

6. Alderwoman Heilman moved to accept the cost of $698.00 from Bee Seen Signs of Columbia, MO to replace the information tins on the island in the center of downtown. Alderman James seconded the motion. Five voting aye. No nay votes. Motion carried.
7. Alderman Thompson recommended the Board send a commendation to the Santa Fe Trail Days Committee for a job well done this year. All were in agreement.

8. Alderman McGee moved to adjourn to closed session - Chapter 610.021 (3) Personnel. Alderman Thornton seconded the motion.
